DIGITAL TV AND PVR STB
The concept behind the Networked Media Products allows a flexible implementation of Media Server and Media Client technologies. Oregan Middleware can be embedded on Digital TV receivers and PVR STBs turning them into Media Servers and/or Players, allowing these devices to receive the content stored on other devices, stream recorded digital broadcast content within the home network and browse the Internet. The Oregan solution is TV-centric, developed with particular emphasis on comprehensive codec support and quality of rendering.

Oregan has successfully ported its solution onto Sony PlayStation's proprietary operating system enabling online multiplayer gaming functionality and enhancing the console's interactivity and entertainment features. The solution equips Sony with interactive marketing tools enabling it to build a global online community of Playstation enthusiasts on the Central Station portal and promote new game releases. A TV-based Digital Media Adaptor is a low-cost Networked Media Product form factor that fulfils the function of a client on the home network. Using UPnP automatic discovery mechanisms, it bridges the content stored on the PC or an alternative server device, and provides the user interface for browsing entertainment content available on the network.
